Blue September is a campaign that asks us to face up to cancer in men.
22,000 Australian men die from cancer every year, but at the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, they want to turn this statistic around.
This September, they want you to GET BLUE to raise awareness about men's health - paint your face blue, host a blue party, or donate to vital research into the cancers that affect men most: prostate, bowel, lung, stomach, liver and oesophageal cancers.
This week BNI chapters in Sydney Inner West and South Sydney are going blue and entering into the spirit of Blue September in a number of ways.
Some chapters will be using the word "Blue" in their Sales Manager Minute presentations and they will be wearing blue clothing and jewellery on the day.
At BNI Gardens Chapter in Peakhurst, the owner of Gardens on Forest Function Centre where the chapter meets is donating the cost of the BNI breakfast to the Blue September campaign.
Other ingenious uses of "Blue" are expected by some very entrepreneurial BNI members.
Apart from the fun and networking aspects, the guys are being encouraged to see the doctor this week for that checkup!
